Enchanted

Would Stevie wear this on a casual day at the office?

Well, natch. It's a mauve cardigan gilded with gold shimmer. Meets all her requirements.

Casual days are nice, but I'm getting bored with jeans outfits. I might have to pull out a dress and the Stevie boots tomorrow to get out of the slump.

Sometimes the Picture Just Ain't What It Seems

So, maybe Stevie would wear these to the office but I probably shouldn't have.

I do like them. But they are so not for work. I feel a little...streetwalkerish. If my hemline was a little lower and I was wearing boots, it might be okay. Thankfully the day is almost over!

My Eyes Without Any Shadow

Would Stevie wear this to the eye doctor?

I think she would. Especially with these shoes:

And here we have proof of Stevie's infinite legacy:

Apres Office: Hooded...Caftan?

I was just scrolling through Sophy Robson's blog and saw this picture. The hooded caftan coat-of-many-colors thing is SO Stevie, I think...she'd put it on after a long day of meetings and deadlines and workplace-enforced team playing and sit on a cushy velvet couch with a glass of white wine and some Joan Didion.

Pick Up The Pieces and Go Home

This is a WWSWTTO roundup, aka Stuff I Found on the Internets that I think Stevie would wear to the office:

Super gorgeous navy-gray suede boots. Karaboo from Nine West. 6pm.com has them for $113.37 (as of this post).  I rilly, rilly want these...I LOVE the color. They're not black or brown but they'll still go with everything. However, my budget is laughing at me. Cackling, actually. So unless I find a used pair on eBay, I will have to love these from afar. But seriously, they are so modern-day Stevie.

ZOMG! Sweet lord, this is gorgeous. Rachel Roy, you are a genius, lady! She also has them in green crystal and copper, black crystal and hematite and purple crystal and worn gold. All of her rings are amazing; it's like she went into some dreams I forgot I even had and created them from my deepest sartorial desires. It's true! This is on my Christmas list. Santa baby, forgot to mention one little thing, a ring--I don't mean on the phone...

Pretty pretty! Hi, I'm 37 and I shop at Forever 21. They also have this in brown with a grey-ish belt. I'll take both. Ribbon belt, people!

Truth be told, I don't think I've ever seen a picture of Stevie with a purse. I mean, she has people to carry her stuff, right? But this is so earthy and 70's L.A. Anthropologie never lets me down.

Even After the Glitter Fades

Today's outfit is also my return to 30 for 30 challenge after two days off (aka two days of cheating; shut it, naysayers!). I wanted to get something together quickly so I threw on one of my "Old Faithful" outfits: black-and-white patterned faux-wrap dress, long gray cardi and dusty blue/gray tights.

The turquoise necklace adds a little color; I believe this was made by either my best friend K or her mom; I can tell by the wire work. The ring I must have gotten at either Buffalo Exchange or some jewelry show.

Posing with office products. Peeptoes! Isaac Mizrahi for Target...oh Isaac, why did you leave us? It hasn't been the same. Although these might be the only IM for T I ever bought, so...okay, not sad after all.

I think Stevie would definitely have a cute badge holder (this one's from nancyM4 on Etsy) but hers would probably be darker, with some Victorian roses.

Verdict: Would Stevie wear this to the office? I think so. The dress makes a good background for accessories; the jewelry gives it just enough of a rustic, slightly hippie edge. The long cardigan makes it lean Laurel Canyon rather than twinset.

Stevie Factor: 7 out of 10.
